The bidding for high end retailer, Barney’s New York, owned by The Jones Apparel Group, has been ongoing for months now. Barneys is currently in a definitive agreement with Istithmar, a Dubai based private equity and alternative investment house for $825.0 million in cash. However today it is reported that fast Retailing Co. Ltd. submitted a definitive proposal on to acquire Barneys New York from Jones Apparel Group for $900 million in cash. The current agreement with Istithmar remains in full force and effect.
If Jones were to end its agreement with Istithmar, it would be required to pay the Istithmar affiliate a termination fee of $22.7 million.

This is one Paris hasnt done before. Acoording to WWD, the licensing machine is launching an eponymous line of high-end footwear. This is in addition to her sportswear, watches, handbags, fragrances and dvd collection. “My goal is to create a stylish and fun fashion line from head to toe,” said Hilton in a statement from Antebi Group, a footwear manufacturing company based in New York, which is producing the shoes. “Antebi Group really understand my vision for this line as well as the needs for the fashion-forward young woman.” Platforms, stilettos, wedges and other signature Hilton styles will hit stores early next year. There will also be a sport line — all the better if one has to walk a straight line for Los Angeles Highway Patrol.
