I'm completely infatuated with design and lately have been consumed with eco-architecture and light fixtures. I know, strange juxtaposition.
How sweet are these ice looking block lamps designed by Harri Koskinen? I'm not sure if there is an underlying theme but wouldn't it be cool if the design is a play on the shrinking glaciers as a result energy use? The idea behind that in itself would remind people to turn off the damn lights (hopefully).

I like it! Having one would make me feel a bit like I was staying in the Ice Hotel.

This was Harri's final work at design school. And it also belongs into a collection of New York Museum of Modern Art.
wow that whole 'energy saving, climate changing, ice melting' idea is really really good! Never would have thought of that myself.
