Went and scoped out 'T by Alexander Wang.' Every piece is versatile, cut well and pretty damn perfect.
Before the line launched, I picked up a few of these oversized pocket tees from Express to hold me down, they are totes magotes comparable. They come in every color, are $24.50 (A. Wang version is $76) and it's buy one get one 50% off. I didn't find anything similar to his tanks and those may be a must, I'm a sucker for staples.

Loving Val's 'Tom Binns diy necklace', not pictured but it dazzles similarly to this.
I saw Tom speak at the Hammer Museum Monday (along with Sally Singer, fashion features and news editor at Vogue, Kate Mulleavy from Rodarte, Adriano Goldshmied of AG and Christina Kim but more on that later, i swwwearz, so behind) and he blurted out, "There are a lot of thieves in fashion!"
So Tom, if you consider a do-it-yourself project theft, I apologize, it's just a reinterpretation made with a lot of love.

Melanie Pullen is another photographer I've been obsessing over. Her collection of more than one hundred photographs is comprised of High Fashion Crime Scenes based on vintage crime-scene images she mined from the files of the Los Angeles Police Department, the County Coroner’s Office and other primary sources. Drawn to rich details and compelling stories preserved in the criminal records, she began outfitting the “victims” (her selected models) in current haute couture, and photographing them in her staged settings.
If you're in LA you can check out her exhibit at Ace Gallery. Creepy neatoooooo.

Stylist Elisa Nalin has quite the shoe collection and a gorgeous windy staircase that is just aching for a slide down the banister. Wouldn't it be picturesque to see the 2 combined, a pair of shoes per step?
When I was a little girl my sister and I would ride our slippery sleeping bags down our staircase for hours on end until our derriere's couldn't take it anymore prompting a leap into the pool. Sometimes I really miss being a kid.

Going to attempt it, will report back soon.

When I was at Photo LA there were a few photographers that really caught my attention and Julia Fullerton Batten was one of them. After spending a few moments with her work I found something very honest about female emotions. Plus, I liked the grey keds and red ballet flats.

I can't turn my head without spotting ripped up / bleach splattered indigo. I'm down with the look but it amazes me how many people buy into the "it trends."

So much fashion week, so little time, why didn't I go again? Happy the sun is shining, winter gloom was starting to get to me. Found Diplo, Larry David, Imogen heap, Fashion Indie and Atrak on twitter, be mine? Pheeeww! fb reveresed content ownership terms, smart move, that was lame sauce. Could really go for a peanut butter banana milkshake from toast. Stuart Weitzman interview Saturday, woooooop, need a flip cam for your viewing pleasure. Fuckkk yeah Obama is chugging along, stimulus package, mortgage crisis, my hero. For serious, Ludacris on Martha?

From Susie's show stopping yellow to ADAM's highlighter blue I'm majorly vibing with this idea. Coupled with a white tee, unstoppable.

I've been lusting over this jacket since one of the designers introduced us back in October and when I saw it in Feb's ELLE I melted all over again. Yesterday I had a little somethin somethin going on and was lucky enough to borrow the sample, letmetellyouuuu, it was pure enjoyment, lots of conversation around the fringe/chain number.
After my little somethin the jacket and I met Sam from sosupersam for the first time, ahhhhhh bloglovin. We are officially working on coining a term for 2.0 friendships. 2.0 you ask? Some sort of friendship/connection formed through technology, perhaps you read each others blogs, stay up to date via twitter, know what one another purchases through chictopia and/or have full details of their late night chronicles via lingering fb photos. The weirdest part about the last sentence is that it's so common even though it sounds entirely bizarre.
ps - Z, Jess and I are on the street ad in the background. Kind of rad, no?

I’ll tell you, if there’s one thing I do miss about the ’80s, it’s all the great-looking people who were around. I don’t just mean great-looking like, attractive, I mean great-looking like they had a look. Stephen Sprouse, Teri Toye, Dianne Brill, Billy Idol… For them, every night was another night to dress up and be fabulous.”

Is it just me or is there is something intriguingly sexy about the top pair and something geriatric hot about the bottom pair?

I haven't done an outfit post in a hot minute but did snap a pic on this outrageous, I must own you someday, chair at SLS. Philippe Stark, you are a genius. We went to dinner with a group of ppl, one of which turned out to be the writer of Clueless 2. I died 18 billion times when she told me her and her writing partner are regulars on my blog and then we did some mayyyjah twittering of the clueless 2 lingo, think 'as if' 2.0. Afterward we hit up some Grammy parties and decided to be in the same book club.
Pssssssssst, if you aren't on twitter yet you need to get on it, stat.

I stopped by the launch of Stampd / the U.S. release of the All Gone book at a 3-day pop-up shop at the Joyrich store on Friday. A photo booth, sprinkles cupcakes and a taco truck completed my life fully.
There was a girl there in the most insane jumper, it wasn't too 80's, was cut to show just enough skin and it didn't have that altered mechanics uniform thing going on. It was vintage, it was divine, it was not the one in this picture but I can imagine putting my future jumper to use just like this girl did, to ride a bike along the water.
Jumper hunt time.
