denim on denim

Denim on denim is everywhere and I am not sure how to feel about it. Where is your head on this? Please, fill me in, make me understand.

I'm not a fan. It's just too much for me I guess. I like denim in small quantities, only one denim item per outfit (or none).

really torn about the whole denim on denim debate - when done wrong it looks so amazingly bad!

Im ust say its growing on me the more I see it. I recently bought a denim jumpsuit but Ive been too scared to wear it so far!.x

I used to really hate it, but I do like it when done well--has to be the right washes, textures and fit! I think it is possible for it to look pretty cool.

I think if worn right, denim on denim can look amazing. I'm actually wearing full on denim today and photos will be up on my blog tomorrow. You guys let me know what you think. I can take criticism...that's how I improve :)

I agree with you...I'm not sure how I feel about it either. I don't love it, but I can't hate it because i see it everywhere.

Ahhh, I'll just stick with my black tights look.

not for me, but looks great on the models, but they make everything look great. sigh.

It can look beautiful if done right, but definitely hard to pull the look off. You should experiment with it and show us the results! I am sure you could rock it Geri. xo

I've always loved the denim suit there's something so rock n' roll about it! Makes me think of 70's which is an era that I LOVE!

Not feeling it especially that denim t-shirt and the jeans in the DSquared runway show it looks like a jean tuxedo this look should be left for the runway only. cant even fathom how to wear this trend. Especially that denim skirt!

I actually think I like it, except when it's paired with something tan or khaki. My favorite look is definitely the button-down long sleeve shirt. I like the way its kind of a sloppy, off-duty version of a normal button-down, which is too polished for someone my age.

I can't process all this denim at once, which might be my standing on the whole issue.

NOT a fan.. even my hubby calls it Canadaian Tuxedo for some reason and laughs !

I like one part denim!

amalie said...

yeah it can work , and then again when its done wrong it looks horrible.

definitely not a fan. denim on denim always conjures up images of overweight middle aged kindergarten teachers to me. sorry!

i'm curious to try out to look and see how it works for me, but everything i see too much denim together i just think about the saying "Canadian Tuxedo"
:)

ahh i'm unsure about it as well. when i see it in editorials i usually really like it, but when i imagine it on myself i just reallyyy think i would look like a huge asshole.

texas tuxedos for everyone!
seriously though, i like small amounts of denim, preferably distressed or torn. nice denim is about on level with khakis for me.

I totally love denim! It's really reliable and easy to use and trusty, too.

it's really HARD to do! have you tried it yet? 'cause it's hard.

I think it's hidious.

I'm not a fan at all. I live in Nashville, TN, so I think that everyone trying to dress "country" has ruined that for me! :)

Just because it's on the runway, doesn't mean a style is fashion forward. I hate these patchworks denim outfits. I like denim on denim as long as they are in different colors...like black and blue. Let's not bring back that part of the 80s.

Magda said...

The key is to mix the denim colors, for example, light denim jeans with a dark denim wash jacket.

I love it if the denim is mostly vintage blues and clean accessories.

It's crisp, easy-going, and excruciatingly chic if you get it right. I love it personally, but chambray shirts and a nice pair of jeans really makes the look work in the simplest way.

ouchhhhh i did it when i was 14, i don't think i have the strength to do it again.

It has a bad rep that's hard to forget (Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake in all denim ensembles), but I think its slightly off in a good way - definitely grabs your attention.

By the way, thanks Geri for the tech help email you sent me a while back about how to get a .net address routed to my blog. It's up and running!

Ugh, totally not feeling it! I wish it was a trend that would just die down already.

Anna Marie said...

I'm opposed, only because too much denim is uncomfortable to wear!
