Note: Tumblr flew me and 23 others out to NYFW and it was like a dream. I kept a journal during my trip to keep the memories ever lasting, these are edited excerpts.

Thursday, February 10, 2011.

I woke up early to wash my hair before speaking on the IFB panel but when I caught my reflection in the half lit room I decided that disheveled hair was more me.

Ambivalent, I stood in front of my closet for five minutes thinking about the 16 hour itinerary I had ahead of me. I grabbed a classic long sleeve dress, added a belt and a statement necklace then headed downstairs to meet Rich.

We shared a cab to MILK, bonded over our embarrassing desperation for coffee and while feeling totally confused as to which direction we were headed I came up with an idea for an iphone app.

As we waited in the green room there was a slight draft which made me both hot and cold on top of feeling calm yet a tad nervous.

“Just picture everyone naked!” a man carrying in extra chairs shouted my way.

I stared out into the audience through the curtains and counted the number of Lita’s to distract myself. “Where is ‘The Man Repeller?,” I thought as I was on number seven.

The panel topic was content and ownership and was moderated by Mr. Newton, from whom I often steal photos. The other panelists included Rich Tong, a birth control glasses wearing Leandra Medine, Karen from ‘Where Did U Get That‘ and a lawyer from MTV who was hit the hardest with questions.

I think the panel went well although most of the tweets were about my shoes. Aldo boots.

Once the panel was over, and The Man Repeller was done autographing bow ties, her, Jannuzzi, Erin and I crossed the street and grabbed lunch at Chelsea Market. Blog discussions, real talk, a tuna burger, newly found bff-ness and an americano later it was time for Vena Cava.

I spent the rest of the day missing the fashion week scene while taking meetings for LEAF and working from my hotel room – boots off, in my big soft white robe.

The sun went down and we shot back over to MILK to catch the IFB keynotes – Jack & Lazaro from Proenza Schouler.

“When we start a collection it’s a mood… a feeling. Based on that mood we find a silhouette.” – Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez

Beyong talking about their inspiration, they talked about how they’re afraid of commitment. I tweeted at them “I’m afraid of commitment, too! Let’s make out?”

I left loving them more than ever.

As soon as the keynote ended all the Tumblr’s had to scurry to Barney’s for a dinner at Fred’s with Simon Doonan (!!!).

After six failed attempts to hail a cab my troop hopped into a chauffeured Escalade fully equipped with a body guard. We were big pimping.

Simon was all sorts of wonderful. I taught him how to pose like a blogger and he shared great wisdom with a sense of humor I did not anticipate.

Amanda Brooks was a surprise guest; she is just as chic and thin as she is tall. She took questions from the audience and answered gracefully in spite of the fact that not only was it fashion week but it was her first day working for as the Fashion Director for Barneys.

Amanda also told us that she doesn’t buy expensive undergarments and love’s American Apparel’s bras. I wanted to yell, “OMG, me too!”

The dinner at Fred’s was lovely and once that came to a close I was off for drinks at the Soho House which turned into dancing all night long at The Boom Boom room.
