transmission la: av club

If you're in LA before May 6th I highly recommend popping by the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA for 'Transmission LA: AV Club' which was curated by artist, producer and founding member of genre-defining hip-hop act the Beastie Boys, Mike D.

The multi-disciplinary and multi-sensory exhibition examines the intricate and ongoing dialogue between music and art. Combining work from 17 cross-discipline artists known for their experimentation with audio and visual elements, Transmission LA includes the likes of director Mike Mills, sculptor Tom Sachs and digital filmmaker Cory Arcangel.

The 17-day exhibition also includes concerts, food trucks, DJ nights, and performances by musicians such as Santigold (!!!!) and Diplo (!!!).

“I can truly say this installation will leave visitors stoked or nauseous or both,” says Mike D.

It was fun fun fun. More info heeeeere.

From what I can see it looks amazing! I love the pictures! I wish I could go there but given that I'm a few thousand miles away, it's unfortunately not in the cards for me.
