There’s something about waking up and having a chocolate smoothie as delicious as this one that feels a little mischievous. It reminds me of sneaking into the pantry, climbing up the shelves and secretly eating cookies for breakfast when I was a little girl. The big difference is that those cookies got me in big trouble with my mom, usually gave me a belly ache and I’d crash hard from the sugar while this ‘Chocolate Almond Butter Protein Smoothie’ fills my body with protein and is an energizing jumpstart to my day.
Almost too good to be true. Almost!
RECIPE: Chocolate Almond Butter Protein Smoothie
Handful of ice
1-2 cups almond milk (depending on the consistency you prefer)
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 tbsp chia seeds
2 tsp almond butter
Serving of chocolate protein powder (I use Vega which is plant based)
1/2 frozen organic banana
Large handful of organic spinach
Add all ingredients to blender, blend until smooth. Enjoy!
