Mid-year Resolutions

Mid-year Resolutions
It feels like just yesterday when I sat down on a chilly December day to write down my 2016 goals, and now as we’re in the blazing heat of July, half of the year is behind us. Poof! Just like that.

As we enter into the second half of the year (July 1st is technically the 182nd day), I like to spend some time revisiting the goals I set back in December. It’s important to see what I’ve achieved, what I haven’t accomplished, how I’ve evolved, and what there is left to chip away at for the remainder of the year. I also use this time to write new goals, or as I like to call them mid-year resolutions, as SO much has happened over the last six months. Some of these goals are lofty, some are minutia, some are about business, and many are personal, but no matter the size or regard, no goal is a bad goal. They’re simply goals and a desired result.

If you don’t do this already, I challenge you to! If you wrote down goals for 2016, take the time to review where you are. If you didn’t write anything out, jot down what you want to focus on for the second half of the year. This little practice can be started at any moment with any date range, so don’t feel like you have to stick to a certain date to start improving your life. If you stick with it, I promise this habit will bring you one step closer to wherever it is that you want to be in life.

    1. I’ve always heard it’s not a goal unless you write it down. So scribble it across a white board, pin it to your cork board, or jot it down in your favorite note taking app. Whatever you do, put your goal in writing and it’ll increase your chances of actually completing it. 🙂

  1. I can’t believe we’re already mid-way through the year…and July too, no less. It’s just been such a whirlwind. My resolutions are on track, for the most part, but I’m definitely not content where I am and will be pushing onward. It is nice to look back and see the progress you have made in the first six months though…be it big or small, progress is progress.
