The Soothing Oatmeal Chamomile Bath

Oatmeal Chamomile Bath
It doesn’t matter how many times we reapply the sunblock, sometimes you just get burned!

Last weekend after a lovely long day at the beach, I came home with one of those brutal blistery burns. I moped around, so upset with myself for letting this happen, and searched for relief everywhere I could: aloe, cool compresses, Vitamin E, milk, you name it, I did it. And believe it or not, nothing helped more than what I like to call the ‘Soothing Oatmeal Chamomile Bath.’ Here’s how to make it:

Grab:
One cup of apple cider vinegar (helps balance the pH (acid or alkalinity) of sunburned skin, and promotes healing)
Two cups of raw uncooked oats (helpful for itchy sunburned skin)
One cup milk (the milk will create a protein film that helps ease sunburn discomfort)
2 cups of baking soda (help ease irritation and redness from sunburn)
One tablespoon honey (honey is high in vitamins B, C, D, and E and is a natural antiseptic salve for the skin)
One teaspoon vanilla (will help sooth the burn)
Two chamomile tea bags (relieve some of the stinging and pain)

Make:
Fill tub with warm water and add all ingredients. Let bath cool before submerging.

For more relief, apply aloe all over your skin after the bath and be sure to drink loads of H2O!
