A Season of Living Well

Happy 2018 – hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! Waking up 9 months pregnant on January 1st is certainly different from any New Year’s Day I’ve had, but this has always been one of my favorite days of the year. I love a good fresh start, and a new year highlights a time to make healthy changes, touch base with what you accomplished in the past year, and it’s almost a restart to life in general.

And on the theme of change, I wanted to introduce a sorta new series that I’m really excited to bring to the site. If you’ve been reading for awhile, you know that 2017 was all about Monday’s Wellness Challenges – which were amazing to create and most of you seemed to enjoy. BUT, I couldn’t help feel like a *challenge* every Monday was exhausting. We’re all working so hard on being our best self, that starting the week with yet another task started to feel negative to me – which is of course the last thing I’d want to promote.

Since I do love the idea of introducing new wellness or healthy living ideas, though, I wanted to find a way to do that – but in a positive light. Which is why I’m SO excited to share this year’s Monday series – similar to the last, but reframed in a happier, lighter way. Ready?!

Introducing the LIVE WELL series. Each Monday, I’ll suggest a way to live well – to live better. It’s nothing you have to do in that moment, or even that week, yet an idea to consider. We’ll be touching on all things wellness (duh!), but I hope to extend this series even further. Because after all, living well to me means more than chia seeds or aromatherapy (though v. important!).

I want this series to promote happiness, health, calmness, positive relationships, confidence, strength, kindness, and ease to life – something that makes you feel good reading or trying. And as always, I’d LOVE to hear what you’re doing to live well. Or what that means to you. If you have something that you feel would fit well within this series, please share below (or at any time). I’d love to explore it alongside you.

Hope you all have time today to touch base with yourselves and get the positive energy rolling for the new year. It’s going to be a good one! xx

P.S. If you’re looking for motivational articles for today, here are a couple that we love (1, 2, 3). More content like this coming your way throughout the week!

  1. I really, really love this idea for a series. One of my resolutions this year (among quite a few, if I’m honest) is to be kinder to myself and so I look forward to the thoughts and ideas you’ll be sharing. It’s fascinating to me that the rise of interest in fitness/wellness can sometimes have the opposite mental affect on people, and bring down self-esteem rather than raise it. I appreciate how you’re framing this as sharing thought starters rather than things to do — I’m a firm believer that every person is different and requires their own specific things to achieve the lifestyle/wellness that works for them.

Anyway — happy new year, and here’s to a wonderful 2018!
