January Clean Beauty Edit

One of the big requests that I got when asking what you’d like to see more of on this site was clean beauty. Insert me waving hands in the air shouting “YAYYYY!!!!!” I was very pleased to hear this as I feel like I already cover a LOT of clean beauty and feared I was overdoing it. But I am MORE than happy to up the ante. Finding, trying and playing with all the best new clean beauty products is not only part of what I do for work, but genuinely my passion!

So, I thought it would be fun to bring back my monthly round-up of favorite products. Some may be old and some new, some months will be short and others long. The point is to only share clean products that I genuinely stand behind and use (as seen by some of the empty-ish containers in these photos). Here are some favorites that are in my rotation:

Juice Beauty Exfoliator Spray

I genuinely don’t understand how this product isn’t on every single women’s shelf – and/or always sold out –  as it’s one of the best I’ve ever used. Infused with fruit stem cells, after a few spritz’s and some gentle exfoliating in circular motions, the amount of dead skin that falls off of your face is mind blowing. After using this products, my skin looks and feels younger, fresher and more awake. I’m addicted to using it twice a week.

The Body Stone

One of my favorite newer products is the all natural moisturizing “body stone” from Kate McLeod. It’s made of cocoa butter, sweet almond oil, apricot kernel oil, avocado oil, fractionated coconut oil, and argan oil, and all you do is rub the stone over your bod. From there, it melts on contact, leaving your skin incredibly nourished. It’s a dream if you’re pressed for time but don’t want to forfeit the benefits of using a daily oil all over your body. I’ve already used one stone up and am on my second.

KNC Beauty Star Eye Masks

These retinol-infused KNC eye masks help hydrate, smooth, de-puff and brighten without all the harsh chemicals – IDEAL for a tired mama like myself. Made with Hyaluronic Acid, Gold, Collagen, Licorice Root Extract, Aloe, Vitamin A and Rosemary Extract, stick these bad boys on for 20 minutes and let the retinol help refine texture and stimulate blood flow while the aloe soothes and reduce redness. Bonus, they’re really really really cute!

Honest’s Gentle Gel Cleanser

When my beauty products were stolen out of my luggage over Thanksgiving, I grabbed this out of my beauty closet and have been using it ever since. I was slightly nervous as I have very sensitive skin, but this $12 cleanser lived up to its name: gentle gel. It is in fact very gentle, made with a botanical blend of soothing chamomile and calendula, and the smooth gel glides on beautifully removing makeup. Plus, it doesn’t leave my skin dry. Bonus: it has a 2-rating from the EWG. Did I mention that it was $12?

W3LL PEOPLE Bio Baked Bronzer Powder

Clean makeup is an area I’m diligently working on but still struggle with. It’s hard to find a perfect clean replacement for incredible not-clean makeup products and there are some things I’m still not willing to compromise on. So, as you can imagine, I’m always elated when I find a replacement product that is JUST as good as the bad stuff and this W3LL PEOPLE Bio Baked Bronzer Powder is just that. A soft natural bronzer that gives a healthy glow but adheres beautifully to the skin.

  1. This was very interesting! I must admit, I have not yet jumped on the bandwagon of clean beauty products at all… I always hear so many great reviews, but I am such a creature of habit (along with having sensitive skin as well!), I am always really reluctant to swap out any products that really work for me. I will have to give it a go some time this year for sure!

  2. Right now I am loving the Marie Veronique Gentle Retinol Night Serum! It has retinol and vitamin c and I can see a difference every time I use it!
