out in the open

If your accessories aren't displayed in some way, may I suggest changing that? Not only does it help when getting ready but doesn't it makes for beautiful self expressive decor?

PS - Check out Maria Nilsdotter for some ohhmaaagoshhh accessories inspiration. The rings, necklaces, body chains, it's love!

all black

It's raining here in LA today and I can't tell you how good it feels. The sky is lined with beautiful rainbows, the streets full of puddles and the energy is simply calm.

The increase of all black ensembles once the change of weather hits makes me smile.

decisions

Wearing
American Apparel t-shirt, Bebe jacket, H&M scarf, Betsey Johnson tights, vintage denim shorts, Forever 21 bag, Franco Sarto boots.

I'm not sure if it was the lack of coffee or the studs or the fact that it was 8 am on black Friday but I was incapable of deciding whether these boots channeled Sienna Miller or screamed Little Miss Piggy on parade day. After being completely thrown for a loop and half a latte later, I went for them and am thrilled with my decision. Like wine (and George Clooney), I think they will get better with age.

Meanwhile, I wish the same would happen as I shop for a chandelier to replace the broken sad lamp in the corner of my room. Don't judge but I've been living with just a nightstand lamp...for months. Eeeeek, who am I?

yums

Nothing says happy holidays like a 500 calorie snack! Chocolate covered pretzels are my go-to, easy-to-make, recession-friendly gift this year, salty and sweet, just like me.

Prep Time: 30 minutes
Cook Time: 2 minutes
Ingredients: 12 ounces chocolate chips, any variety. 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening. Pretzels (thick, not thin are best). Optional: 1 cup toppings such as M&M's, miniature gummy bears, chopped nuts, etc.

Preparation: Line two large cookie sheets with waxed paper. Combine chocolate chips and vegetable shortening in microwave safe bowl. Microwave at 70 percent power for 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Continue microwaving and stirring for additional 15 seconds each time until completely smooth.

Using a fork, dip each pretzel into chocolate mixture and gently tap off excess. Place on cookie sheet. Sprinkle on topping. Leave undisturbed until completely set. Refrigerate for 20 minutes. Lick utensils clean.

If you have any other easy gift worthy recipes please share them in the comments!

A collaboration between Corto Moltedo and one of my favorite designers, Tom Binns.

Deadly but wicked like this Geil Magazine nail featuring editorial. Sensing a trend anyone?
