I wrote about denim on denim back in Feb and the reviews were quite mixed. I can’t help but wonder where everyone’s heads are now that spring has sprung, the trend has set in and girls are sporting the tuxedo across the globe.
Months later, are we loving or hating?

Loving! I spent a minimum of 2 hours at H&M yesterday trying on different denim-on-denim variations, and I’ve found it works together much better if it’s light on light denim. I haven’t seen a whole lot of dark with the denim-on-denim trend, but what I have seen hasn’t been my favorite.
In Erin Wasson’s case, at least in this photo, I like it. The Canadian/Texas Tuxedo line is such a blurry one that is really easy to cross… I think the key is that if you are going to try the denim on denim look that one piece of “denim” should be more of a chambray-like-material. OR the pieces have to be differently sized (baggy boyfriend jeans with a cropped denim top/tight jean shorts with a baggier denim shirt, or something along those lines..)
loving it… as long as it is pulled off well.

i’m all over denim on denim right now…i think it looks great, but you have to be careful with it.

honestly, i’m baffled by the controversy that denim on denim creates! no one cares if someone mixes their neutrals, or wears blacks in different materials, so what’s the big deal??
(obviously, i’ve been pro denim on denim for many years)
im loving it! I literally just read an article in instyle today about denim on denim.. I think it’s very 90s and I can’t wait until it catches on.. This means I have to find myself the perfect denim shirt!

I’m not 100% a fan of denim on denim, but I think sometimes certain outfits can pull it off. This model seems to pull it off very well so here I like it! I’m still warming up to the trend though…

Loving it however I feel like its imperative that you mix washes and that you preferably pair a denim shirt with shorts so you wont look like your wearing a denim tuxedo

I think you have to be veeery careful when wearing this.

well I think denim on denim is something that will never go out of style, maybe for certain times, its more trendy, but its so classic! Imagine jeans ever going out of style–don’t think so. It’s classic American.
