My Current Skincare Routine

As someone who LOVES and documents experimenting with every beauty product I can get my hands on (mostly clean), you may be surprised to hear that when it comes to my face, I recently stripped it all back and am currently using one line and one line only: True Botanicals.

“Why?” you ask. No, they aren’t sponsoring this but in full transparency, since falling in love with the line I did meet with their team (and got you all discount – see the bottom of the post!) and am taking a little unpaid trip with them which I’m really excited about, but anyway, back to why!

A few months ago my skin was pretty broken out and looking VERY blahhhh. I went to dinner with a girlfriend, Janessa Leone (who’s a wildly talented hat designer if you aren’t familiar, check her out!), whose skin looked incredible! I asked her what her secret was and she gushed all about the skincare she’s using. She shared that it’s the best there is in the clean beauty space, made with the highest quality ingredients, everything is Made Safe and she swore it’s what transformed her face. Her skin wasn’t only transformed, it was GLOWING like Gisele’s.

I got home, ordered a few products immediately, and the day it arrived committed fully to using it and only it. It’s been two and a half months, I’ve bought all the products now, and my skin is back to normal but better than normal. Very clear, no congestion or discoloration, and the natural glow is back. Here’s what I’m currently using:

Hydrating Cleanser, CLEAR: I wash with this acne-fighting cleanser any time I need to wash my face (usually 1-2x a day).

Pure Radiance Oil, RENEW: I use this morning and night instead of lotion which takes a second to get used to, but once you get passed using an oil instead of your moisturizer, it’s no big deal and quite luxurious.

Cellular Repair Serum, RENEW: I apply this over the oil at night.

Vitamin C Booster: A few nights per week, I mix a few shakes of the powder with the serum cellular repair serum for a little skin boost. But always after the oil!

Resurfacing Moisture Mask: I use this 1-2x a week in the evening by applying it to clean, dry skin for 2-5 minutes. It’s super hydrating.

Everyday Sheer Coverage SPF 20: I wear this over the oil everyday as my SPF. It has a little tint to it which makes for nice coverage.

And that’s that! Will keep you posted if there are any further changes.

P.S. I secured a discount just for you! Use code GERITRUE20 at checkout for $20 off your first purchase of True Botanicals (this is only valid for first-time customers, only valid on purchases $40 or more).

  1. Hi Geri – thanks for the great review! I’ve had my eye on True Botanicals for a while and never made the commitment… but you just may have convinced me!

I know the products are a little on the pricier side and I’m wondering how long you feel each bottle will last you? Are their certain ones you would recommend starting with if you don’t want to purchase the whole line initially?

    Thanks!

  2. I did commit to a simple routine too, after some testing of all the new things… I use a local made (quite hard to find really!) moisturizer, cheap and natural, that is the HG for me, since my skin is acne prone, quite dry and very sensitive. I use a light retinoid treatment at night and if its too cold some rosehip oil. And one mineral sunscreen with a 50 fps. I cant leave home with lesser fps or i get nervous… 😅 People think I have the most extensive skin care but thats just it.
