I’m on a mish for a major upgrade with one stipulation – it must be purchased at Barney’s (thank goshhhh and boyfriends parents for gift cards). Be honest, is this Balenciaga bag totally donzo even though the color is the bomb?

Don’t worry about the Balenciaga being overdone, there’s a reason it’s so popular and that’s because it’s a great bag. If you love it, go for it! Amazing colour!

the color of the Balenciaga is definitely dope… but I’m pretty sure you could get a bag that looks exactly the same by like Fossil or something. The style does nothing for me.

Speaking from personal experience, go with a black one. I have a Balenciaga, but in green. It clashes with all the green in my wardrobe. Well, unless you are Mary Kate and can afford one in every color.
not donzo… agreed. the chanel bag is amaze though. if your picking btw the two i say go for the chanel. but if your just looking to use the giftcards for the balenciaga, its a beautiful color and a stunning desgin.
I’ve got a Balenciaga, and it’s my favorite bag ever – so soft and mushy and lovable. But, that Chanel, in electric blue, is *so* gorgeous. So I guess I’m no help at all… get both!! LoL 🙂

Chanel. That Balenciaga will be out of style in a few years but you will ALWAYS have your classic Chanel and that eletric blue is only going to get more beautiful as the years go on. Think about it, what would you want to have in 20 years? What could you pass on to your kids? Go classic. But honestly, I would do something even crazier and go for some fantastic designer no one has even heard of. Be unique!

Everyone is wrong. Although they are great bags, and you’ve probably wanted one forever… the Balenciaga is so over… You will regret it. Get something else.

so many other cute/timeless bags than blue balenciaga .. wait it out until you find something better. i feel like you can find the balenciaga at a good resale store, and pay half price or less… save the gift card for something orig. and SPECIAL!

GET THE CHANEL. I have seen that balenciaga so many times and the chanel is just well more luxurious. The balenciaga will go out of style quite quickly but the chanel won’t.
I would go with the Chanel over the Balenciaga. The quality is so superior, for sure. Don’t get me wrong, I love Balenciaga .. but I’m not a massive fan of their bags. I know at least two people who complain all the time about the quality of their Balenciaga bags for the price. Chanel on the other hand, I can attest to owning some amazing handbags that will still be amazing in 20 years. The Chanel will last a lifetime; both are classic pieces, but the Chanel wins totally.

buy the PS1. they sell it at barney’s and it will NEVER go out of style. it’s really well made, and the price (especially if you buy the leather verson) is really pretty decent. that’s my 2 cents.
