The first time I met Ara Katz was in a business meeting. She was wearing torn up jeans with perfectly beaten up boots, had long bohemian hair and was not wearing a stitch of makeup – she was one cool executive.
We remained friendly over the years and her coolness was constantly reinforced. From her creative business energy to her design aesthetic and the parties she’s thrown, if there’s one thing Ara Katz is it’s consistent. To no surprise, her California cool vibe is echoed throughout her Michael Sant-designed light and art-filled Venice Beach oasis. Complete with an outdoor-indoor living space, reclaimed wood galore, a vintage Lignet Roset Togo Sofa and a Roy Lichtenstein casually chillin on the kitchen wall it’s pretty much a dream. And in case all of that wasn’t “cool” enough, GQ Magazine stamped her hood as “The Coolest Block in America.” I mean!
More inside Ara’s home, which she shares with boyfriend Chris Ovitz, after the jump…

Wow, what a cool house! Venice is a fantastic place. I love the picture of her shoes, all in a line, a little scruffy.
