Who saw ‘Reflection Field’ by Phillip K Smith III at Coachella and thought, “my gosh this is epic!?” Ya, I did too!
American artist Phillip K Smith III created the ‘Reflection Field’ installation which was comprised of five shiny cuboids ranging from 18 feet in height and 17 feet in width. By day the structures provided a series of mirrors reflecting the iconic Coachella environment and by night were transformed into neon towers of light.
Smith designed the sculptures to offer Coachella goers a place for contemplation where they could “explore ideas of color theory, optics, perception, scale, and technology.”
