Sketching fashion illustrations is an art of its own, but Gracie Ciao has taken it a step further by involving fresh flower petals in her drawings. The 22 year-old from Singapore incorporates everything from carnations in dresses to lilies in pantsuits to create the beautiful floral fashion illustrations.

“They help me create prints which I otherwise couldn’t have thought of. I think petals work really well for illustration also because their delicacy and exquisiteness mimic those of a soft fabric.”

She says she started using petals purely by accident, when she noticed a red rose a boy had given her was dying.  “I remembered how beautiful it used to be and wanted to ‘preserve’ this beauty. So I made fashion illustrations out of them,” she told BuzzFeed.

  3. OMG…these are absolutely gorgeous. Do you think Grace Ciao can find flowers that could copy the style, shape and colours of some our clothes at StyleCloset? I think it would be great if she can create a flower dress out of the silhouette of our A CENSORY MODE DRAPED MINI DRESS by Shona Joy (see below). love love love your blog as always. Can’t wait for the next post. Cheers!!!! 😀

  4. Beautiful! Are these something you can keep? Or are they discarded once they dry. Curious how they would look dried.
