  1. I love drinking lemon and water, I used to hate it because I’m not a huge fan of lemon so had to dilute it loads but now I’m used to it, I think I prefer lemon water because it’s so refreshing!


  2. I drink it every morning! So good and refreshing. One tipp I would like to add: drink it with a straw! Otherwise I notice that my teeth start to hurt in the front after a few days.

      1. ReaLemon is not. Why would you drink sodium benzoate or sodium metabisulfite? That’s what’s in it. Keep a bunch of lemons in your fridge- I cut one up and put in a glass container – makes it easier on sleepy mornings.

      2. It should be REAL lemon, as in freshly squeezed. That Realemon product, contains all sorts of other ingredients used as preservatives that negate the 9 benefits listed above.

  3. I drink a lot of water and lemon – but surprisingly have never tried hot water with lemon. Does chilled water with lemon have the same effects?

  4. Does anyone know why it has to be exactly lemon juice in hot water? Why not a regular glass of water, with a citrus fruit “on the side”, and perhaps some tea? Or any other combination or way…? Why is the precise combination of lemon juice in hot water considered to be better? To me, it’s a bit strange…although I do like to drink water in the morning when one is dehydrated after a nights sleep.

  6. Can you provide medical citations for any of these claims? Lemon water is bad for your teeth. Your liver does a fine job of “detoxing” your system without any help. If your body is out of pH balance, you’d better head to an ER. Citations, please?

  7. I’ve been doing this for a couple of years now and it has been wonderfully beneficial, I rave about it to everyone who will listen! I used to get really nasty colds 1-2 times a year, now they just last for about 4 days & are really mild. The immunity benefits alone are worth it.
    A clue regarding teeth: dont swish the lemon water through your teeth, just knock it back so it doesn’t touch the teeth. x

  11. I’ve been doing this for the past 2 years and love it. To reduce the acid on my teeth I drink it with a straw and also swish my mouth with a mixture of water and baking soda after, which neutralizes the acid.

  12. A real time saver is I put a few lemons through my juicer and freeze the lemon juice in ice cubes. I take one and toss it in warm water.

  14. Has anyone of you an idea, if drinking hot water with lemon right before the morning coffee might have any negative effects on the stomach or digestion?
    I tried it out the other day, but somehow I got stomachache when I had my coffee after drinking the lemon-water. It would be such a pity, because I really don’t want to give up my morning coffee 🙁

  16. Yes, this is wonderful for many things! One tip from my dentist (who isnt’t crazy about me doing this) is to swish with water and wait 20 minutes before eating anything hard or brushing. Apparently the lemon makes tooth enamel more prone to damage.
