In the last few years, a lot has changed in my social calendar. My friends and I are now less likely to grab drinks and more inclined to go for a hike. Our girl’s trips slowly morphed from boozy Mexico fiestas to zen meditation retreats, and we’ve all found great love for nesting at each others’ homes instead of going out. We simply became much more interested in taking excellent care of ourselves and less tolerable of “sunglasses and Advil” after a long night of partying (which we of course still occasionally enjoy, too).

At first I thought it was because we were getting older, but the more I connected with readers and friends around the country, I found that this was a trending wellness theme. I wasn’t surprised to read that ‘girls night in’ is trending upwards 35% year over year and given the social change, I’ve been really inspired to host wellness gatherings at my house. They leave you feeling good, more connected to your friends than ever, and you don’t regret anything the next day. Here are some ‘wellness night-in’ ideas that I love:

Clean beauty masks & beauty tonics
Group meditation
Clean dinner parties
Crystal reading
Clean cooking class
Non-toxic mani and pedis followed by massages
Juice flights (the new kind of shots!)

One of my favorite wellness gatherings of the year (which happened to be last week) was a wellness holiday retreat I hosted with Eddie Bauer to showcase their outerwear. I invited 8 health-loving girlfriends for a 45-minute yoga meditation followed by a clean brunch. Escaping the busyness of the holiday hustle and bustle was much needed by all and it was beautiful morning. I moved the furniture over in my living room, laid out mats which I topped with faux sheepskins, lit the wood burning fire, and hired a local teacher to lead us. Ahhh, so nice!

Afterwards, we noshed on clean bites and nutrient-packed juices, then shopped the latest Eddie Bauer outerwear collection which is seriously so cute. I’ve been in need of new outwear, especially for a recent trip to Joshua Tree, so it was the perfect time to treat myself to some quality winter gear. Yoga followed by a little shopping, I mean does it get better? It was pure bliss and the type of gathering I plan to have more of in 2017.

Thank you to Eddie Bauer for sponsoring this post!
