7 Ways To Add Wellness Into Your Life

When it comes to wellness, a lot of girls ask me how I got started and where they should start. The truth is I’m no expert, BUT a lot of us already have a really strong wellness practice by definition.

well·ness: the state or condition of being in good physical and mental health.
noun

Good physical and mental health comes from a variety of things and this is different for everyone. For me it’s about balance, moderation and practicing the things that make me feel good, such as healthy relationships, exercising, eating for nourishment, getting good sleep, spending time with people I love, enjoying my life (including eating pizza, and yes, drinking!) meditating, reflecting, being in touch with my body…the list goes on.

So when girls ask me where to start, I respond by asking, “What makes you feel good physically and mentally?” Whatever that is, that’s where you should start. If you aren’t sure, here are seven simple ways to integrate wellness into your life each day of the week:

Monday: Drink hot water with lemon in the morning (more about that here).

Tuesday: Workout. No excuses, just go!

Wednesday: Drink a healthy smoothie (recipe inspiration here).

Thursday
: Try a wellness shot (they’re great from juice bars but you can make them yourself too – recipes here).

Friday: Skin brush (more on that here).

Saturday: Meditate (I practice TM, but there are tons of apps—check out HeadSpace).

Sunday: Digital Detox (find two hours to part from your phone)

What are your favorite wellness practices?

  1. Hot water + Lemon + Honey – yes, please! Whenever I want to give coffee a break, this is my morning drink of choice. I always feel good after chugging down a glass, especially before yoga session.

  2. Wellness is something I’ve worked to incorporate in my life over the last few years. I routinely meditate and practice yoga, but simple things like sitting in silence and having a cup of tea and enjoying a walk outdoors are just as beneficial. Great post 🙂
