hair trends: balayage and short blunt locks

Two hair trends I’m obsessing over:

1. Balayage (see Harley Viera Newton on the right of the first pic). Balayage is a French word that means ‘to sweep.’ It’s a highlighting method which lightens the hair gradually from root to tip using a brush, no foil. After a decade of not dying my hair I just did it at Andy LeCompte and it’s seriously too legit to quit.

2. Shorter locks. Short blunt straight hair is so chic and fresh and modern. If only I had the balls to do it…

What hair trends are you into lately?

p.s. how ador is the yellow céline mini shopper on HVN?

  1. Tempted to say mix the two- but I don’t think that is the4 answer you were looking for 🙂

I like the shorter blunt hair cuts-they look so healthy and shiny.

Definitely crushing on the Celine bag too. COLOUR HOLLA!

  2. I love the last type!! I did it a few years ago, but it made me so young, and it took me SOOO long to grow it back (even though I liked it on myself). Please advice me, when seeing me, would you say yes/no for me?

  3. I love the balayage hair styles !! I love my long hair and am definitely not ready to chop it yet…maybe one day.

  4. Agh I’ve loved balayage since it hit Australia about 2 years ago but alas I love my blonde hair and think if I bleach the end any more they’ll fall off!! Booo.
Maybe I’ll go the opposite way?

  5. Who do you see at Andy Lecompte?! I get my hair done there by Denis…he’s the guy who does Rachel Bilson’s infamous look and is uhmmaayyyzzzinnggg. I love balyage because you don’t have to get touchups for like a year. It’s so cost-effective. You must post a picture of your new hair I want to see it!
