A few months back I read “How French Women Curb Cravings: This 5-Minute Breakfast” on ELLE.com then curiously made the recipe.
Et voila! The day starter was everything it promised to be: uber healthy, full of “intestine-wringing benefits,” filling (I eat around 7:30 and don’t get hungry again until about 1pm) and absolutely delicious.
Merci beaucoup Mireille Guiliano for the recipe. It’s officially my go-to and we made this LEAFtv video is made in your honor!
Recipe: The French Start Breakfast
Ingredients:
– 1/2 cup low fat greek yogurt
– 1 tsp flaxseed oil
– Juice of 1/2 lemon (I omit this because I start every morning with a cup of hot water with half a lemon)
– 1 tbsp crushed almonds (or walnuts)
– 2 tbsp raw, old fashion oats
– Honey or acai
Instructions:
1. Add all ingredients into a bowl.
2. Drizzle generously with honey.
3. ENJOY!
P.S. How cute is the Song of Style for ELUXE VoiLA sweatshirt (similar available here)?

Hey Geri, meyer lemon she uses is very sweet, that’s why it goes with this recipe. It pops the honey. You would definitely wanna omit the lemon otherwise.
Wow, that looks delicious. Will have to try it out soon. Thanks for sharing!

The French would most definitely not eat low-fat anything… can we please stop with the fat phobia nonsense?
Looks delicious. Way better than the pancakes I was thinking about making. :/
Oh, if only I was born a French Woman… At least Mireille helps me try to cultivate my inner Parisian (skinny) chic! Thank you for sharing. Oh, and p.s., your fab post made my February Review! Xo

Hey Geri,
I’m a pure Parisian and I have a breakfast routine a bit different : fruits, fresh squeeze orange juice, greek yogurt with brown sugar, green tea and eventually slices of ham. That’s it and if I feel a little hungry at 11 a coke zero!!
