My Ideal Day

A friend recently asked me what an ideal day would be like for me, and it took some time to think. Obviously when I look back to the best days of my life, I think of significant, personal memories, but a planned ideal day? I wasn’t sure.

At first, I dreamed of a beachy vacation in Italy, but realized I probably wouldn’t have my friends and family around me. Or winning the lotto might be incredible, but it’d come with stress, too! I came to the conclusion that my “ideal” day probably looks pretty simple. Below is my dream—but realistic—day:

7:30 a.m. – I’m a morning person (the worst, I know), so this would actually be considered “sleeping in,” yet I’d still be able to take advantage of my whole day. I can’t be wasting the best day of my life, duh! I’d lay in bed with my boyfriend and dog and slowly shake off the sleepiness. I’d DEFINITELY have coffee in bed.

8:00 a.m. – Dry brush, take a hot shower, and only have to apply light makeup.

8:30 a.m. – Walk down to a healthy breakfast spot for an acai bowl, green juice, and hot lemon water. I always, always feel best starting my days with a little walk and good food, so this is a no brainer.

10 a.m. – I’d take a drive down the coast to one of my favorite beaches and let my dog run wild. It’d be warm enough to lay out (with SPF) or sit and read for a while, too! There would be snacks and sparkling lime water, mmm.

1:00 p.m. – After relaxation at the beach, I’d get mexican food. Tacos, chips & guac, a cold Pacifico, all of it! I’d take another walk.

3:00 p.m. – Mani/pedi with magazines for sure – probably a massage, too, because you can be greedy on your perfect day!

5:00 p.m. – Nap.

6:00 p.m. – Meet up with friends and family for a concert or baseball game. There’d be a great bottle of red wine, sushi, and dancing at some point.

11:00 p.m. – Bed at a decent hour so that I wouldn’t stress about being tired the next day.

It’s funny to think that my perfect day is actually very attainable. It’s full of healthy living, good food, relaxing, and the people that mean the most—all things I take for granted too often. I love the idea of incorporating an “ideal day” into my schedule more—and savoring the little moments that compile one.

I’d love to hear what your ideal day looks like. Isn’t it interesting that different things make us all uniquely happy? Please share!
