Is The SNOO Worth It?

If you’re a new busy mom looking for answers about SNOO by Happiest Baby, I won’t take up much of your time. Because the short answer is: YES, it’s game changer.

What is SNOO?

If you aren’t familiar and are going to have babies someday, take notes! SNOO Smart Sleeper is the first responsive bassinet that boosts sleep for babies and parents. Developed by Dr. Harvey Karp, the sleeper is based on his 5 S’s soothing tips that have helped millions of parents around the world. It gently rocks – all naps and nights – to help your baby be a better sleeper (up to 6 months), chooses the best motion (slow swing for sleep, faster jiggles for upsets), chooses the best white noise (soft rain for sleep, womb sound if crying), has an easy safe swaddle, and in case you’re worried about the transition, it has a gradual weaning feature.

My experience:

I have a four month old who has really bad reflux, so we were hesitant to try SNOO. We went for it anyway and started using the bassinet when she was about one and a half months old. We added the leg extenders so that SNOO was a bit elevated, and from the moment we put her in it, her sleep improved dramatically. She went from three-hour stretches to four, five, six, seven and now eight plus.

On top of better stretches of sleep, it took me MUCH longer to rock her to sleep than it takes SNOO, and the problem with me doing it is that she’d wake up when I tried to put her down and the cycle would start all over again. With SNOO, she goes down, is rocked to sleep, and stays asleep like a little angel.

SNOO is a splurge, especially since it’s a six-month sleeper but if you break it down to daily use it’s an average of $6 per day. Plus, it improves babies sleep and in turn parents get more sleep which is priceless in these early stages (without the sleep you could argue that coffee will cost you $6 per day). We love love love it but if we didn’t, they offer a money-back guarantee which helps take the pressure off.

I hope this is helpful for all of you interested in SNOO! And good luck with your (hopefully) happy sleepers.
