I’ve been a little bored with my beautify routine lately so I looked to the fall 2013 runway archives for some inspiration. After flipping through quite a few shows I came across Prada’s wet hair and stained lips look and appreciated the idea. I mean, washing your hair, tossing some product in it and swiping on a little lip stain seems reasonable enough, right?
Here’s how hairstylist Guido Palau and Makeup artist Pat McGrath achieved the “drenched and melancholy, like a girl fresh from the shower” look:
Hair: Palau sectioned hair and saturated with Guts 10 Volume Spray Foam roots to tips and then let hair dry naturally. To texturize hair and “rewet” strands, Guido applied Redken Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine serum to the ends.
Lips: McGrath lined lips with a burgundy pencil and filled in the models’ mouths by painting with a fan brush. The preblended lip color was concentrated at the mouth’s center and blotted off with a tissue to help make the lip color look like it’s happening accidentally.
For those interested in everything else the notes said that the eyes were dabbed with grey, smoky shadows, mascara finished the lashes and nails went nude-tone with a polish of Leighton Denny in Starkers.
Easy breezy!
