Fall just does something to the soul that makes a person want to incorporate it into every part of their life. From diet to wardrobe to your wellness routine. At least for me! It’s a season of #feels, that’s for sure. So, to get in the spirit of things, here’s a fall wellness bucket list with an autumnal twist.
Butternut squash face mask
Butternut squash is just as amazing on the face as it is in the belly. All you need are a few pantry ingredients plus some pureed squash and your blemishes will be as good as gone. See how to make your own mask riiight here!
Make homemade pumpkin seeds
I buy pumpkin seeds from the farmer’s market all the time (hello amazing source of magnesium and iron), so why not take advantage of the season and make them at home? Here’s a quick and easy recipe.
Reboot your immune system
There’s no better time to build up your immune system than fall. Add in lots of leafy greens, broccoli, bell peppers and citrus fruits to your diet. If you do think you’re coming down with something, try homemade elderberry syrup or these natural options.
Go for a walk/hike
One of the best things about fall is taking in all the foliage and cool temps (when they finally hit California, that is). Whether you live in a place with changing leaves or not, get outside and breathe in that fresh air.
Cozy up with a book
Grab the coziest blanket you can find and snuggle up on the couch for an hour of reading. Bonus points if you have a fireplace. Here are some books I’ve loved lately.
Bake a homemade apple pie
A pie may not rank as the most nutritious to-do on this bucket list, but we also recommend apple picking and then using your harvest to bake the pie. There’s definitely something therapeutic about picking your own food, no?
Step up your exfoliation game
We’re supposed to limit exfoliation in the summer months to avoid unwanted sun damage, but now that fall is in full swing and dry winter air is on its way, find a non-toxic exfoliator and add it to your normal skincare routine. I love this clean body scrub (and the message behind this small company) and using a wash cloth after washing my face to gently get rid of skin.
What are you making sure to do this fall to up your wellness game?
