There’s nothing more feminine to me than long locks, but let’s be honest, I haven’t changed my hair in years (#longbeachwaves), and I’ve been starting to crave a change. We all get that itch eventually, right?
With pretty much everyone chopping off their hair and looking amazing doing so—think Aimee Song or Cara Delevingne—I was just about ready to do it myself. Like, appointment booked and all! Then, I got the amazing news that I was pregnant (still feeling so grateful!). And I don’t know about you, but the thought of my body changing significantly AND changing my hair so drastically suddenly didn’t seem like a great idea.
Having long hair ultimately makes me feel sexy, and as my body transformed, I was truthfully a bit scared that I’d lose that feeling without so much hair. It’s a comfort blanket of sorts, and it was a major risk. Plus, I just wasn’t sure I could pull off a lob while not looking like a total mom, literally. And that’s just not the vibe I’m going for personally. I still want to feel like myself after the baby comes.
So I’m 100% on board with what Herbal Essences is doing at the moment: inspiring and empowering women through changes (watch their amazing video here – chills!). I love identifying hair and femininity with the changes in our individual lives, and doing what makes us feel confident through them. They’re a brand that celebrates the different stages of a woman’s life, and understands the significance of hair through those stages.
For now, I’ve decided to keep my hair long and as natural as possible. It’s been one constant through my body’s beautiful yet interesting evolution, and I’m at peace with that constant during this change. It’s funny what something like hair can do for your confidence as a women, and even though not everyone correlates long hair with feeling sexy, it’s what works for me.
Maybe I’ll want to chop it the second the baby comes, maybe I’ll keep it long forever. We’ll have to wait and see!

First of all: I really love your coat!
I have long hair for the most time of my life. I can’t imagine having short hair.
Of course, you have to take care of it but it’s worth it! 🙂

I love your hair long but I love the idea of embracing change too and taking care of your hair. I used to use Herbal Essences so much when i was younger maybe I should give it a try again!
I actually did cut off a lot of my hair when I was younger. I used to have hair well down my back and i chopped it into a bob. I hated it but when I used nice shampoo (at the time it really was Herbal Essence!) I felt better about it. It smelt nice and I felt good!

I thought I wanted to let mine grow a little but I’m honestly getting really annoyed and I really think that I’m just going to snap anyday and get a haircut soon! But you look absolutely amazing with your longer hair!

You look beautiful.I cur my very long hair after my your sister was born because she kept putting her fingers in it and pulling it out.Yeamy life was forever changed
I think it’s smart to leave your hair long. All my girlfriends cut their hair when they become moms and they all look so mom! Not that there’s anything wrong with that but appreciate maintaining who you are.
What a great read! Love your hair like that and agree with you on keeping it long for now since your body’s going through a change anyway.
Totally obsessed with your outfit, too <3

Long hair is great but sometimes I also want to refresh myself. Cara looks so great with that hairstyle, and her current pixie hair is also stunning.
Love your outfit!
