Sam, one of the girls I work with, is obsessed with making all sorts of potions that nourish from the inside out. Now that’s it’s getting cooler she has moved off of smoothies and onto warm drinks and one that she swears by is a night time beauty elixir or as she calls it, “night-cap lattes.”
After a little convincing and research, I tried her favorite elixir and it’s not only surprisingly delicious but the unique blend of ingredients helps you have a great night sleep, improves skin, hair and nail health.
So what’s in this bad boy that makes you glow? Ho shou wu which is a Chinese herb that balances hormones and enhances youthfulness, Pearl which is a potent source of amino acids, essential trace minerals and antioxidants and coconut butter which is a great source of healthy fats. If you haven’t heard of these ingredients (don’t worry I hadn’t either) I encourage you to branch out and give them a go! Here’s how to make it and of course, a LEAFtv video to accompany the recipe:
Night Cap Beauty Elixir
Ingredients:
1 tsp ho shou wu
1 tsp pearl
1 tsp raw honey
2 tsp coconut butter
Almond mik
Instructions:
1. Add the ho shou wu and pearl to a mug, then fill your mug halfway with hot water
2. Add raw honey and coconut butter
3. Fill the rest of the mug with almond milk

Haha my grandma has been making me drink these “elixirs” in the form of soups and tonics since I was young, and I have to say, they really work wonders! <3
When I moved away from home during my university years, I felt like my skin and hair suffered because I didn't have her magical elixirs LOL 😛
Great post! 🙂 Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful recipe! I will definitely give it a try!

Hi,
Sounds great but, where can I get the ingredients?:)
Hi Yetty! I hyperlinked the products so you can buy them. They’re available at Moon Juice or Amazon. Hope that helps! xo
I do my morning green juice daily. Never thought about a nighttime elixir. Thanks for the suggestion!
