Online Resources to Help You Unwind

How’s everyone doing? So much craziness going on in the world right now and it doesn’t seem to be on the upswing quite yet. To say it’s a stressful time is an understatement, which is why we thought it would be a good idea to share a few of our favorite online resources to help you unwind and relax (as much as possible anyway).

Calm

If meditation is something you’ve been considering – now more than ever Calm is a great place to start. You’ll receive guidance on meditation, sleep and even music that is focused on creating a relaxed and stress-free environment. They offer a 7-day free trial and annual membership for $69.99. Or, if you know you love the app, you can pay a one-time fee of $400 and you’re a member for life!

Mindfulmft

I started following this Instagram account a year or so ago and love it. It’s run by a marriage and family therapist who shares tons of amazing quotes about mindfulness and reminders to not overthink and stress yourself out during challenging times. She shared this quick exercise the other day and it really put things into perspective for me during an anxious moment. Best part? It’s free!

Headspace

I love Headspace for its focus on mindfulness. The app teaches you how to move through all aspects of your life in a more mindful, purposeful way, which I’ve found so helpful. They also have great guided meditations for relaxation and sleep. You can get up to two weeks free and then pay $69.99 for an annual membership. They also offer discounted plans to students/teachers and discounted family plans.

Melissa Wood Health

If you follow any blogger or influencer, you’ve probably stumbled across Melissa Wood Health. Based out of NYC, Melissa focuses on low impact workouts – perfect for doing at home. A subscription to her site gets you access to a library of workouts (including pre and postnatal approved options for the mamas), a treadmill series and meditations. She also shares lots of great info on mindful living and nutrition. You can get one week free and then it’s $99.99/year or $9.99/month.

Rainy Mood

This app is really simple and doesn’t offer any guidance or meditations but if you’re someone who simply enjoys and is relaxed by the sound of rain, this is an app you definitely want to check out! It only costs $2.99 and gives you access to the most realistic loop of rain and storm sounds. So soothing!

If you have any other apps or ways you keep calm during this very stressful time, please feel free to share! BIA also has this post on walking meditation, another free resource that could help!
